This footed bowl has transferware images of a Chinese couple courting by the edge of a river.
Images are in gold and black over a cream color ground.
Interior of bowl has same image on the bottom interior of bowl.
Gold band at the top of the interior of bowl has images of Chinese boats on the river, floral patterns and vines in black over the gold ground.
Bottom of bowl says, "Petrus Regput & Co, Maastricht, PAJONG, Made in Holland"; it was made in the Royal Sphinx factory in Maastricht, Holland, around 1884.
Excellent condition.
