Authentic Horse Sleigh Bells are mounted on this sturdy leather strap, complete with buckles for use on a standard size horse.
Since horse hoofs do not make any sound in the snow, sleigh bells were originally strapped to a horse pulling a sleigh in the snow, to announce the sleigh's approach. When not in use on a horse, the strap of sleigh bells are traditionally hung at one's door for a guest to announce his arrival at a home.
The 25 graduated bells and buckle are made of solid brass. Top stitched buckle end and holes end. Leather strap is doubled for strength and has tooled edging.
Bells are not riveted on, but are attached with secure S hooks. Bells and strap and new and are of the highest quality.
