Lamp has touch control button on the base to regulate a light bulb on 3 levels of brightness. This feature enables one to cut the light on and off without fumbling for the switch.
The base itself does not activate the light switch, as it is made of resin. Only the switch activates the light.
Brown vase style lamp also has 2 USB ports in the base to charge electronics, including kindles.
